Great December for the Nadadores!

December proved to be a very successful month for the Nadadores. Chloe Sutton, swimming with the USA National Team, won the 400 meter Free at the Dual in the Pool in Atlanta, where the USA soundly defeated the European All-Stars.  Chloe beat some of the top 400 Freestylers in the world, including the World Record holder, in her race.

The same weekend, the National Team and the Olympic Training group travelled to the Chesapeake Pro-Am Elite meet in Oklahoma City and came home with the Women’s, Men’s, and Combined Team Titles.  Logan Redondo won the men’s individual high point award and Katie McLaughlin came away from the competition ranked number 1 in the nation for 14 year-old girls in both the 200 Free and the 200 Fly.

Meanwhile at the California-Nevada Sectional Championships, Janardan Burns won both the 500 and 1650 Freestyle in some very impressive times.

MVN also won the Girls’ title and was second in for the Boys’ at the Winter Age Group Invitational in Las Vegas.  Matt Hales finished with 6 gold medals in the 11-12 boys events.

And last but most impressive, USA Swimming announced that the Nadadores once again achieved Gold Medal Club ranking in the annual Club Excellence Program.  The program recognizes teams for their commitment to excellence in performance, based on the performances of 18-under athletes in the 2010-2011 swim year.  This year the Nadadores finished 3rd in this national competition, achieving their highest ranking ever.
